Pulling out the stops: T-Mobile gives away free stock and pizza to customers

The company will introduce a wide variety of prizes through its T-Mobile Tuesdays app including redeeming a single stock of its shares.

T-Mobile CEO, John Legere made an appealing proposition to those customers investing in the company’s latest customer appreciation plans by promising them free gifts including free food and even free shares in the company.

The move to provide new and existing customers in their Un-carrier 11 program was launched in a live simulcast and across social media on Monday in an attempt to lure more customers as well as thanking loyal existing T-Mobile users.

But does it all seem too good to be true? Legere insists that it all comes with no strings attached. The shares are provided through their Stock Up Rewards Plan and at $0.00001 per share, customers are allowed to receive up to 100 shares per year in exchange for referring new customers according to Mashable.

At T-Mobile, we already wake up every day working for our customers — so I’ve decided to make it official and turn T-Mobile customers into T-Mobile owners by offering them stock,” stated Legere.

The plethora of free stuff that is additionally given will come in the form of the T-Mobile Tuesdays app where prizes such as movie tickets, free wifi, desserts and Domino’s pizza will be up for grabs with a different prize every Tuesday. The company are dishing these out throughout June as it launches and having already teamed up with big brands such as Warner Bros. there is expected to be many more prizes moving forward.

The move is undoubtably to keep existing customers happy making them less likely to leave and to also sign up many more but Legere insists that the move is ultimately to put emphasis on thanking his customers.

”The other carriers screw you—we just want to take you to dinner and a movie and more. I’m not announcing any bulls**t loyalty schemes. Loyalty schemes are broken and backwards and everybody hates them. I’m gonna thank you like you’ve never been thanked before.”

The first session of prizes can be found on the app starting this Tuesday June 7 and includes movie tickets for the new Warcraft movie, pizza dessert and a movie rental. Shares will also be available with a single stock currently valued at above $43.
