Something truly incredible is about to happen to those in the path of the solar eclipse on Aug. 21, and it’s something you will not want to miss.

In just a few short weeks, the moon will cross directly in front of the sun for a total solar eclipse, and the path of that eclipse is going to cut straight through the United States. You knew that, but what you probably don’t know is it’s not just the total blackout of the sun in the middle of the day that will make for an astonishing viewing experience, but something else entirely.

Experts say the temperature could drop by as much as 30 degrees in just a few short minutes, the different between the mid-day sun and after sunset. The sudden jarring change in temperature has been described as being like space itself touching you, and it explains why some people travel all around the world to experience it wherever it goes.

On Aug. 21, the total solar eclipse will cut a 70-mile-wide path from Oregon to South Carolina, and millions of people will be traveling there to experience it. And for good reason.
