A remarkable new study claims that there is an incredibly easy way to solve your insomnia problems without using sleeping pills.
An astonishing new discovery by scientists at Rush University have discovered a simple way to solve your insomnia problems, and you won’t need sleeping pills. The study found that simple exercise improved both self reported and objective measures of sleep quality.
While exercise is still not as effective as sleeping pills, it comes with none of the downsides of taking pills to put yourself out. It is less expensive, much healthier, and just as easy to exercise, and it results in a lot of positive beneifts on your life.
“Sleeping pills are extremely hazardous,” Arizona State University sleep researcher Shawn Youngstedt told CNN. “They are as bad as smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. Not to mention they cause infections, falling and dementia in the elderly, and they lose their effectiveness after a few weeks. It’s less expensive, healthier and just as easy to exercise, and there’s an added bonus: Research suggests those who are physically active a have lower risk of developing insomnia in the first place.”
“Chronic insomnia, defined as difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep, awakening too early in the morning, or nonrestorative sleep, is the most common sleep disorder among adults,” the National Sleep Foundation says about the issue in a statement. “Though exercise has long been assumed to improve sleep, surprisingly little research has been conducted on the effect of exercise on chronic insomnia.
“Of the handful of studies that have been performed, they suggest that exercise significantly improves the sleep of people with chronic insomnia. The only study that looked at the effects of a single exercise session found that a bout of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise (e.g., walking) reduced the time it took to fall asleep and increased the length of sleep of people with chronic insomnia compared to a night in which they did not exercise.”
