A remarkable new study claims that you may think your vigorous workout routine may be doing you good, but it actually may be causing you a big problem in one area.
A groundbreaking new study has come to a surprising conclusion about common workouts: they may be totally wrong for men. Specifically, researchers at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill have found that while working out can boost testosterone levels in men, thus increasing their libido, very strenuous and more frequent workouts may actually have the opposite effect.
Scientists surveyed men and asked them about workout routines and their sex lives. They were amazed to discover that working out harder and more often was associated with a lower libido compared to those who did not. The men were asked about general health and wellness as well as workout routine and sex life, according to the paper, which was titled “Endurance Exercise Training and Male Sexual Libido.”
The study involved grouping the respondents based on their answers, dividing them based on libido and workout intensity. Those with the longest and most strenuous workouts were far more likely to be in the group where the sex drive was lowest.
