Despite concerns that he may be facing some serious issues, the Dalai Lama has confirmed that he is in good health. According to an Associated Press story, the Tibetan Buddhist leader received treatment for a prostate condition at the Mayo Clinic recently. He was even feeling good enough to address 3,000 people at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Sunday.
The Dalai Lama received treatment from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for prostate issues, but has confirmed that it’s nothing serious.
The Dalai Lama’s website even made a notice of the treatment he sought. “His Holiness the Dalai Lama is departing Dharamsala today for the United States where he is scheduled to undergo prostate treatment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota followed by a period of rest from the end of January 2016 for approximately one month. His regular engagement schedule will resume in March,” it read.
After resting, the Dalia Lama was ready to begin traveling and speaking to his faithful followers once again. He cancelled a series of appearances in the U.S. last September on the advice of his doctors. He spent several weeks resting after a checkup, and has since received a treatment from Mayo Clinic doctors. There were little details released about the nature of the treatment.
The Dalai Lama says that he has been going to the Mayo Clinic for checkups for the past nine years. He told reporters that he has the utmost confidence in his doctors, and that they would treat him accordingly if they discovered any problems.
The Dalai Lama spoke to listeners in Minneapolis following his treatment on Sunday, touching on themes of love and acceptance while confirming that he was in good health.
