Oregon shooter’s manifesto reveals he couldn’t get a girlfriend

A chilling testimony from one of the survivors of the Umpqua Community College shooting reveals that the gunman left a manifesto for police officers on a hard drive,

The nation’s most recent tragic mass shooting event occurred in Roseburg, Oregon on October 1st, 2015. According to a report from Seattle Pi, the gunman chose a “lucky one,” an 18 year old student who was spared from the violence to deliver a package to police containing the story leading up to the tragedy.

Student Mathew Downing told law enforcement officials last Friday that Christopher Harper-Mercer entered a classroom at Umpqua Community College amidst a barrage of gunfire, causing the young student’s ears to ring. He was incredulous that he had found himself in this situation.

According to Downing, the first thing the gunman did was place his backpack on the front desk and pull out an envelope. He told the students in the classroom that the envelope contained a flash drive, and whoever made it out should deliver it to the police.

According to Downing’s account, the gunman looked at him and said, “Hey kid with the glasses, you are the lucky one. I will not shoot you if you give this to the cops.” Downing stood up and fell under the shooter’s aim. At this moment, he said, he feared that he was going to die.

Instead of taking Downing’s life, the shooter handed him the envelope and told him to sit down in the very back end of the classroom, facing the assailant. Downing sat at the back when the shooter opened fire into the middle of the classroom and started to ask students what religion they observed. He shot at one student who was allegedly a Christian, and another girl who told him she was Catholic.

The gunman came armed with two handguns and a backpack full of ammunition. He reportedly reloaded twice, firing at people in the room indiscriminately. According to Downing, the shooter lost interest when a woman screamed out in pain unable to stand up.

Another woman picked up a desk to find cover, but the shooter fired and hit her in the leg. When he noticed the police approaching, the gunman leaned out of the classroom’s window and began firing. Downing reported that once the shooter was hit by police gunfire, he turned to the floor and took his own life.

Harper-Mercer’s manifesto revealed that he was a “friendless virgin,” and his typewritten message also had the number “666” scrawled throughout. The shooter took the lives of nine people at Umpqua Community College and wounded nine more.
