A woman was spotted in a West Anchorage Subway restaurant, naked, and completely trashing the dining area inside. According to a report from the Huffington Post, the woman, Nikki Abrell, age 35, was allegedly high on synthetic marijuana, or “Spice,” at the time.
The woman entered the restaurant fully clothed at roughly 5pm and headed straight towards the restroom. According to reports from KTUU, a local TV station in Alaska, she stayed in the bathroom for up to two hours.
As she emerged from the restroom, Abrell was completely disrobed and began smashing chairs and tables inside of the dining area, causing a serious mess for employees to deal with.
According to police Sargent Shaun Henry, “People described her as ‘a little crazy.’ She disrobed, went fully nude and kinda just went nuts. Started breaking furniture, destroyed the store, knocked over computers, ripped the ceiling down, sprayed a fire extinguisher all over, locked herself in the bathroom for a while, broke just about everything you could find.”
According to a witness at the scene, Tina Ayana, “I thought there was a fire in the restaurant because it looked smoky in there but it turns out she had just set off a fire extinguisher inside. I really didn’t want to get anywhere near her. She was smearing feces all over stuff.”
Police arrested the woman, who they suspect was under the influence of spice. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, spice can refer to any mixture of herbs that produces a similar effect to marijuana and is marketed as a safe and legal alternative. Spice can have dangerous side effects, producing hallucinations and aggressive behavior.
Abrell will likely face felony charges for her rampage in Subway, and is currently being held in an Anchorage jail on charges of third-degree criminal mischief, harassment, and resisting arrest.
