The demo version of FIFA 2016 is on the way, and EA Sports has revealed that it will let players choose a women's team in the new version of the game.
Fans of the FIFA series by EA Sports will have the option to play as one of 12 women’s teams in their upcoming 2016 demo installment of the wildly popular soccer video game. According to a report from Engadget, the milestone decision to include women’s teams will be available for users on the demo version for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
Players will be able to choose one of two national women’s teams, either the U.S. or Germany. Club options will include Barcelona, Chelsea, Borussia, Dortmund, Borussia Monchengladbach, Inter Milan, Manchester City, PSG, Real Madrid, Club Atletico River Plate and the Seattle Sounders.
It is important to note that the teams listed here are only the selection available for the demo version of the game. The full version will be released in North America on September 22, and fans will have to wait to access all of the game’s features until its release.
Nonetheless, eager FIFA fans can still download the demo through online marketplaces associated with your device. The demo will be released tomorrow, on September 9.
Many are praising EA Sports for the decision to include female teams. In a world where males are the overwhelming majority in most sports, it is empowering to know that both genders are represented as viable competitors.
