Subway’s Jared Fogle released pending child porn plea

Subway’s Jared Fogle released pending child porn plea

Subway spokesman Jared Fogle is in deep trouble after announcing plans to plead guilty to multiple charges of child pornography and traveling to engage in illicit acts with underage girls.

Known to many as the man who lost hundreds of pounds eating Subway sandwiches, spokesman Jared Fogel was released pending a plea deal as he awaits sentencing on charges of receiving and distributing child pornography and traveling to engage in illicit contact with minors. According to a report from USA Today, the charges have tainted Fogle’s multimillion-dollar image as a role model for a healthy lifestyle.

A disclosure has revealed that Fogle paid several sex workers, received and viewed child pornography, and engaged in illicit activities with girls under the age of 18. His Facebook page, which previously had 100,000 followers, has since been taken down from the site.

Fogle’s second wife has filed divorce proceedings, and court records show the extent of the illegal activity in which Jared engaged.

Federal documents show that Fogle first received child pornography in the spring of 2011 from a friend through text messages and on a thumb drive. Fogle was expecting his first child with his second wife at the time, and some of the images images involved children as young as six years old.

According to Rochelle Herman-Walrond, who became friends with Fogle during a 2007 visit to Sarastoa, Florida on the radio show “Health Beat of America,” “He’s really just a sick man. He has no remorse. He has no guilt.”

Herman-Walrond also stated that Fogle spoke openly with her about his sexual encounters with underage girls, up to the point where she felt that she needed to contact the FBI.

Fogle’s Indiana home was raided on July 7, and officals confiscated documents, electronics, and other items. Fogle has remained silent regarding the charges, but if found guilty he could face up to 12 years in prison.
