In the grassy regions of China, researchers have discovered a new bird species.
The bird will be dubbed the Sichuan Bus Warbler as stated in the Avian Research journal.
The official name for the bird will be Locustella chengi, named after the diseased bird scientist, Cheng Tso-hsin.
According to Clapway, the researches have spent the last 19 years to rediscover this bird series.
In May of 1992, another team of scientists had heard the Warblers strange song but were unable to locate it.
In 2011, there was an official sighting which provided some samples of DNA,feathers, and physical characteristics which proved it was a new bird species.
The Sichuan Bush Warbler shares similar physical traits to other Warblers living in central China.
The voice of the Sichuan is what makes it so unique. The quest to discover the Sichuan began from hearing the birds strange song.
The Sichuan Bush Warbler appeares to be peaceful as it lives in the same territory as the Russet Bush Warbler.
Researches have noticed that the new kinds of birds were able to live in each others overlapping territories with no problems or conflicts to be seen.
The Sichuan Bush Warbler was first seen in Emie mountains in 1992 and is known to make it’s home up to 7,500 feet up in the mountains.
At the time however, they were not sure if it was a bird or an insect according to researcher Per Alstrom who was the first to hear the birds song.
This new species of the Suchuan Bush Warbler has been a very huge adventure that has finally resulted in a discovery and now in the Avian Research journal.
