A Safe Place: A Shelter for Battered Women and Their Children1 has volunteer opportunities for activity coordinators, administrative assistance, development and communications projects. American Cancer Society in Alameda County is looking for volunteer drivers to provide transportation to and from treatment centers. Oakland and Berkeley are the most common destinations. For six years they have been providing education, tools, free used parts, even whole bikes to anyone willing to do their own repairs. Now they need your help!
