You won’t believe what Huggies just did

Diapers maker Huggies has just unveiled their latest product, and it’s quite the sight to behold.

They’re the titans of the diaper industry, but Huggies is aiming at a very small demographic with their newest product: a tiny diaper that fits babies who are less than 2 pounds. Dubbed the Huggies Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diapers, they are designed for babies born premature who weigh less than 2pounds, which covers less than 1.4 percent of all babies.

Huggies says that they want to make sure all babies have diapers, and thus despite the small demand for this product, they think it is a worthwhile addition to the market. They noted that good fitting diapers are important to a baby’s growth an ddevelopment, and these new diapers will conform to the baby without limiting leg movement or gapping.

All diapers are hand inspected before being folded and packed. Nine NICUs tested the diapers before they were released to the public.

The statement reads: “Huggies, the fastest growing diaper brand in U.S. hospitals, is launching a new diaper for the smallest babies – Huggies Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diapers. These diapers are made explicitly for babies weighing less than two pounds (900 grams), and specially-designed to protect the delicate skin of premature babies, while promoting healthy growth and development. The new diaper is part of No Baby Unhugged, Huggies promise to ensure babies get the hugs they need to thrive.

“Fewer than 1.4 percent of babies born each year fit this category, and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) have lacked a diaper solution specifically designed for this fragile population. Responding to this unmet need, Huggies worked closely with NICU nurses and neonatal therapists to develop the Huggies Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diaper.”
